2016 Jazz Festival line-up includes:
With his effortless talent, voice and stage presence, Jeff has been entertaining you a while now. He’s been serenading you over brunch in pubs. He’s drawn you out to shake it on the dance floors. He has held house gigs at all of the city’s premier venues with a uniquely diverse repertoire of cover tunes.
Jay Douglas & The All Stars
Jay Douglas first appeared on stage in Montego Bay, Jamaica when he was a youth. In over 45 years of entertainment, Jay has developed a wide-ranging repertoire of American Blues, West Indian Rhythms, Jazz Standards combined with fancy footwork and incredible on-stage charisma.
Dione Taylor & The Backsliderz
Having first burst onto the music scene with her Juno nominated debut album "Open Your Eyes", Taylor's career trajectory has been truly remarkable. With performances at festivals and concert theatres across the United States, Canada and Asia for audiences that have included the President of the United States and the Queen Elizabeth II, Taylor has made a worthy name for herself as one of this country's most talented musicians and songstresses.
The Heavyweights Brass Band
Inspired by the New Orleans brass band tradition, the Heavyweights' original stance keeps one foot firmly rooted in the rich legacy of jazz, while one foot steps forward into the future. Like the music's originators, the Heavyweights are unafraid to incorporate influences from disparate areas of the musical spectrum, from pop hits of the day to original compositions, from R&B and funk throwbacks to the infectious rhythms of Latin America, all woven together with the thread of adventuresome sophistication.
